Administration
Several functions operate unseen by the user. For example, the GPS location of every retail store is stored
and compared to each submitted record by the RAE. On a regular bases, all corporate information related to
store location, store ID, RAEs assigned to each store, management layer for each RAE, etc. is automatically
uploaded from Nextel Corporate to the AirMobility.Net Middleware. This ensures that only a single place
within Nextel assignments of stores, RAEs to mangers, etc needs to be managed.
Additional Functions
Access to administrative tools, threshold management, etc. are managed by
security levels determined by corporate:
• RAE – Access to their submissions and information
• Area Manger – Access to information within their area
• Regional Director/Corporate – National access
An online help program was created for installation of the client (phone software), how to use the phone
software and server side application use. The application can be interrupted by an incoming call; the RAE
will not loose current data (just reenter the application). Full administrative functions have been
implemented to monitor and trigger notifications upon potential anomalies such as a SIS database update file
as corrupted. From the field, an RAE can overwrite a submitted record in the event a submission was sent in
inaccurately. An RAE can move through the hand-held form, entering in data in any order they desire;
however, all fields will need to be completed before submission. An RAE can access the previous
submission to any store for to compare to the current visit if desired. Records can be accumulated and set if
for any reason the phone is out of coverage. To assist the RAE in proactively managing store visitors, if an
RAE is close to being out of compliance with a store visit (i.e. the RAE needs to be at the store at least once
a week), the AirMobility.Net Middleware sends the RAE a simple SMS text reminder to their handset.
